Rear-Facing
- ✓ Safest option for babies and toddlers
- ✓ Better support for head, neck and spine in a crash
- ✓ Recommended for as long as possible (ideally to at least 2–3 years, or longer if the seat allows)
- ✓ Many modern seats allow extended rear-facing
- ✓ Ideal for newborns and low-birth-weight babies
Forward-Facing
- ✓ Used once your child outgrows the rear-facing limits of their seat
- ✓ Still provides strong protection when correctly installed
- ✓ Often preferred by older toddlers for visibility and comfort
- ✓ Must meet height/weight requirements of the specific seat
- ✓ Transition should not be rushed purely for convenience
